'Tis the season for giving, and what better way to get into the spirit of things than by throwing a gift wrapping party? This unique holiday party idea is great for getting everyone in the festive mood and helping them get their holiday wrapping done at the same time. No more waiting until the last minute and stressing right before the holidays - throw a Christmas gift wrapping party to bring friends together, get creative, and get it done! Plus, it's a perfect chance to show off your wrapping skills. Set-Up

Holiday Backdrop

First, set the scene with a party backdrop. You can use any number of Christmas decorations for this, from balloons, to table covers on the wall, to garlands. The idea is to create a focal point for the party, as well as a place that’s perfect for photo ops. We decided to use paper garlands in a red-and-white color scheme and layered them on the wall above our gift wrap supply stations.

Underneath the paper garlands, we set up a table with gift-wrapping supplies in a vintage wooden “Reindeer Treats” container, which we wrapped with a winter greenery garland with red ornaments, and added some glitzy metallic bows to complete the look.

Don’t be afraid to let some of the Christmas gift-wrapping supplies do double-duty as party decorations! We placed an extra large Christmas gift bag in the center of the table that complemented our general red and white party color scheme, but also had some pops of blue and green to snake it extra festive.

Then, on either side of the table, we added large Christmas llama and die-cut Santa gift bags. Llamas and die-cut party supplies have both been pretty popular in the last few years, so including them in the party decorations makes the party feel particularly trendy! We propped one of the gift bags on assembled Christmas gift boxes for extra height and added some Christmas bows to the base of the other for extra sparkle.

Gift Wrap Supply Carts

On either side of the table, we set up supply carts with lots more Christmas gift-wrapping supplies. You can use smaller tables, but what we love most about the carts is that they roll. This makes it really easy to bring them over to the gift-wrapping table for easy access, and easy to share with whoever needs to replenish their supply at any given time.

We added some holiday cheer to the supply carts with a Christmas stocking, Santa hat, and red and white pom-pom garland. Bonus points if you wear the hat while you wrap!

On the cart, you’ll want to stock everything anyone might need to wrap all shapes and sizes of gifts. While an assortment of Christmas gift boxes are a must (we especially love these snow-filled ones to do double-duty as decoration), you’ll also want to think outside the box (literally!).

Holiday wrapping paper, gift bags, and tissue paper are staples, of course. But it’s also a great idea to provide your guests with cute Christmas-themed gift card holders and money holders, so they have options for any type of gift or recipient.

Adorable Christmas vehicle gift card boxes are a practical choice that also serve as décor for the carts!

Don’t feel the need to stick to purely traditional palettes and styles. Provide gift bags in a variety of colors and themes to fit every style. Both your guests' style and gift recipients. We’re loving pink gift bags for Christmas!

To top it all off, you’ll need Christmas gift bows, ribbon, and/or string. We organized bows by color in clear pedestal jars for easy access.

Providing gift string with holiday-themed accessories lets your guests add an extra-special (and easy!) touch to any gift.

Adhesive gift tags make labeling gifts a breeze, and they come in lots of cute styles guests can mix and match with their gift wrapping to personalize their gifts even more. Especially when the tags have glitter or fun 3-D pompom elements!

Gift Wrapping Table

Setting the table for this gift-wrapping party is pretty easy. You’ll want to keep it simple and not add too much décor, as guests will need the space for wrapping. Cover the table with a festive table cover, and create practical centerpieces by adding holiday pails of markers and other wrapping supplies. Guests will appreciate the convenience of having the essentials close by!

Speaking of essentials, you’ll want to have plenty of scissors and gift tape on hand.

Finally, add some wine glasses or paper cups to your table for drinks, and let the Christmas gift wrapping party begin!
