FLOMO Educational Foundation is a foundation donated by Flomo Shen, the founder of FLOMO Co., Ltd., adhering to the mission of creating corporate value and enhancing the upward progress of society, and practicing its commitment to corporate social responsibility with practical actions.

The Foundation's mission: Caring for the underprivileged, promote education, protect the environment, and protect the future of Taiwanese children.

A. FLOMO Educational Foundation:

Since 2013, the Foundation has cooperated with 41 primary schools in Hunei District, Tainan City North District and Annan District of Kaohsiung City, and the Foundation has sent English teachers to teach primary schools in various districts, cultivating children's ability to stand on the international stage with lively and diversified English learning resources, benefiting more than 5,000 people.

B. Eco-friendly Erasers Gift Program:

In order to maintain the health of school children and reduce the damage of plasticizers in the environment, we show our commitment to sustainability and serving underrepresented populations through this program. Environmentally friendly and non-toxic erasers are given to the public for free every year, and a total of 20 million pieces are given away.

C. Promoting English:

English is one of the indispensable requirements in the face of a global competitive environment, and the Foundation has taken the first step to continue to promote Taiwan as a bilingual country ahead of government policies, implement English in life education, and enhance Taiwan's international competitiveness. Additionally, it supports the Tainan Municipal Government's efforts to promote English as a second official language by providing funds to do so and working with teacher training programs for the English Workshop and other English promotion initiatives.

Specific Actions of the Foundation

2004-2010

Tainan FLOMO Education Foundation was established

★ Public Welfare★ Refuse to allow PVC on campus, and distributes millions of erasers

More than one million non-PVC [environmentally friendly and non-toxic erasers] were given to lower primary school children across the country for free, in addition to 20,000 FLOMO environmentally friendly non-toxic erasers were arranged into large dominoes prohibiting PVC, and they worked with children to knock down the dominoes and declare their determination to refuse toxic stationery from entering the campus.

★ Public Welfare★ exchange to wipe the earth, national campus tour action vehicle

It took half a year to tour more than 100 primary schools across the country, allowing children to take and use PVC-containing erasers, free exchange for environmentally friendly and non-toxic erasers. The activity was replaced by former Vice President Xiao Wanchang's wife as the spokesperson, a total of about 2 tons of PVC erasers, and also gave Taiwanese children a cleaner and more environmentally friendly learning space.

2010

Through the joint efforts of FLOMO and environmental groups, the government began to regulate the content of plasticizers in erasers

2011

★Public Welfare★ cooperates with Tainan Primary School to carry out positive thinking experimental teaching to cultivate the ability of positive thinking, so that students can change their minds and create a better life when they encounter difficulties and setbacks

★Public Welfare★ In addition to hiring excellent teachers, we have compiled 7 volumes of I LOVE FLOMO English textbooks, providing free opportunities for disadvantaged students to learn English, and opening free e-book downloads

The FLOMO Academy headquarters in Xi-men Road, Tainan City, had students from 18 primary schools, and it also collaborated with about 40 primary schools in Kaohsiung City's North District, Annan District, and Hunei District, where classes were held close to the school's teaching points, and about 800 disadvantaged students learned English for free through the FLOMO Academy Program each year.

2014

★Public Welfare★ handling of 'FLOMO Loves the Earth, millions of erasers for you’ gift plan, free of charge environmental protection and non-toxic eraser for people to obtain for free. It is hoped that Taiwan will fully use environmentally friendly and non-toxic eraser as soon as possible to create an environmental paradise.

2015

Professor Chao-Ming, Chen, from the Department of Applied Foreign Languages of Shih Chien University, was commissioned to conduct the policy white paper "English as a Second Official Language”

Held a FLOMO Education Forum with the Second Official Language Project Office of the Tainan Municipal Government, inviting scholars and experts, the Second Official Office of the Tainan Municipal Government to discuss "the necessity and promotion of English as a second official language"

2016

★Cooperate★ with the Tainan Municipal Government to establish an English teaching talent pool in the "English Teaching and Learning Workshop" reserve teacher training program

Tainan Bo-ai Elementary School was entrusted to handle the children's English compensation plan-diversified fun learning project research

Walk Together Against Domestic Violence with Center for Hope & Safety

It's another beautiful day at Van Saun Park, New Jersey on Oct 29, 2022.

Team FLOMO/Nygala Corp. and friends walked together against domestic violence with the Center for Hope and Safety and showed our support.

Meet the Product Department: Janet and Tina are the innovators, and bring new products to life

How does FLOMO fill its showroom, warehouse and retailers’ shelves and displays with more than 6,000 products?  By innovating and continuing to create and source new, contemporary items.

Janet and Tina are FLOMO’s Product Development experts, bringing a variety of consumer good experience to their creative roles.

“Product managers are the center of the development process when it comes to new products,” said Janet.  “We search, source, gather pricing and samples, and present product lines to our CEO for planning.  And then to customers for reviews.”

Janet and Tina recently worked on developing a substantial stationary line of journals and sketchbooks, and also a multi-phase production of arts and crafts supplies, which includes kids craft sets.

“It’s something new everyday, it is never the same,” noted Janet.  “We work with all departments within FLOMO, from Imports to Finance, as well as vendors and our support team in Shanghai.  We also provide sales presentations to support our reps in house and in the field, and sales tools to sell the goods.”

For FLOMO to remain a go-to brand for everything you need to celebrate, stationery, education, holiday, arts & crafts, gifts, fitness products and more, the product department has to anticipate trends and always be ready to create the next best thing.

“[The idea for] a new product may come from a customer request,” said Janet, who looks for inspiration everywhere.

Tina, who also works on extensive line of seasonal products, says creativity is a key factor the department’s success, as well as the importance of keeping up with trends.

Creativity is vital, yet there are very scientific skills needed in quickly developing solid products at attractive prices.  One needs to have a strong background in math, logistics and time-management.

And not too many jobs can see a concept from start to finish as much as the product developers.

“When I go into a store and I see FLOMO products,” said Janet, “that really gives me the most satisfaction.”
